About the App

A new world is opening for your remote

Do you like the Beo5 or Beo6 remote? Then, how would you like it, if it could control not only your excelent B&O equipment, but also other non-B&O devices ?

This has always been possible, but it requires a lot of knowledge. Now it is possible in an easy way with the Beo5/6 ThirdParty Configurator App for iPad. All you need is this App and access to B&O's officiel config tool.

Important !!

*Before upgrading to the Pro version, please test and try it out and see if it does what you need. The Pro version does NOT contain more products that the free version !

* I do NOT supply the B&O configuration tool, but the tool is required to program the remote after you have created the configuration file(s).

* The Beo5/6 ThirdParty Configurator does NOT program your remote, it simply creates the XML files needed for the control of ThirdParty products.

* This App relies 100% on people helping to maintain and expand the database with products, and therefore I cannot guarantee that the product you are using, can be found in the database.

* Use of this App is your own responsibility, please read all the information on this site about the use of the App before upgrading to the Pro version. I cannot be held responsible for any damage to your remote caused by wrong configuration files.

* This app is NOT affiliated with Bang & Olufsen in any way. Your dealer or Bang & Olufsen does not support or help you with the use of this App.

The Beo5/6 remote control is the worlds greatest multi-remote, but unfortunately it is quite complex to program it to control other products. This App makes it much much easier for the "ordinary" people to create the XML files needed for 3rd party control, and then either by themselves or by help of other, upload them to the remote.

Why I got the idea to the App ?

My living room consists of the following products.

Samsung UE46C6005 LED TV

Kiss KMM3000 SetTop box for my TV Channels

Bang & Olufsen Beomaster 7000 connected to a Beolab 7.1 Speaker

AppleTV3

Western Digital WDTV Live

When I for example press "Watch TV" on my remote, I need it to do the following.

Turn on the Samsung TV

Turn on the Kiss TV box

and turn on the BM7000 on the AUX input

After a lot of hours creating the XML file manually (and after helping a lot of other people creating XML files for their remote), I decided to make my life easier, and the idea was born.

So you would like to use the app ?

The Beo5/6 ThirdParty Configurator App is available free on the AppStore.

The free version has full functionality, so it is possible to try it out and see if does what you need. You can create a new user account, download products from the server, and configure your remote with the products and macro's you need. Or you can begin to create your own products and see how that works.

However, the free version has some limitations.

Only one remote can be created.
Only 2 SoftKeys will be generated for each configuration.
Only the Hardkeys Play,Stop,Up,Ok,VolUp and VolDown will be included in the XML.

If you, after you have tried it out, decide that it does what you need, and you would like to generate the complete configuration files, You can upgrade the App to the Pro version by In-App purchase.

The Pro version

Before upgrading to the Pro version, please test and try the free version to find out if the App can help you with your needs.

To upgrade to the Pro version, go to "App Settings".

If you have never bought the upgrade, then press the "Upgrade to Pro" button.

If you have bought the Upgrade at one time, and has re-installed the App, then you can restore the purchase by the "Restore previous upgrade". You can also press the "Upgrade to Pro" button again, you will NOT be charged again. The AppStore will tell you that you have already bought the upgrade.
